Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has commended the roles of fathers as the counsellor, provider and pillar of strength amid the COVID-19 challenges.
The governor revealed this through a Father’s Day 2021 message issued on Sunday.
According to him, on this special day, I salute all fathers in Lagos State and around the world for the duty of care to our families and for providing them the required support, strength, succour and protection.
“We are at a critical inflection point in human history where the society is faced with many challenges and beset with uncertainties that often question our faith in humanity.
“The current state of our country and the world at large makes the roles of fathers as the counsellor, provider and pillar of strength even more important than ever before.
“Today is set aside specifically to celebrate you.
“May God continue to bless all fathers as we remain a source of inspiration to all who look up to us, he said.
Similarly, Honourable Gbolahan Yishawu, a lawmaker representing Eti-Osa constituency 02 commended the father’s responsibilities, urging them to be resilient in performing their roles towards their children and wives in order to enjoy God’s blessings.
His words: “Part of the role of a father and head is to provide for the family and anything contrary is against God’s will.
“As we know that Father’s responsibility is very huge, we must not allow the societal influence to affect us. Many fathers today have abandoned their responsibilities, which suppose not to be. There are blessings attached to doing our God’s given assignment as the head”, he added.
He therefore congratulates all fathers and appreciates them for being a Consistent Source of Joy and Happiness. “For your numerous sacrifices and For being an amazing Role Model Happy Father’s Day”, he said.
