Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has continued the distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE), to its workers and stakeholders in waste management to further protect them, during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Managing Director/CEO of the Authority, Mr. Ibrahim Odumboni, speaking at the Authority’s head office, Ijora-Olopa, during the presentation of the PPEs, enjoined the workers, representatives of Association of Waste Managers of Nigeria (AWAMN), CEOs of Streets Sweeping, and other beneficiaries, to always observe COVID-19 protocols, to protect themselves against the ravaging pandemic.
Mr. Odumboni stated that in view of the continuous efforts of the state government to curtail the spread, it is important to support the keep-safe-ideology by washing the hands regularly, using nose masks and hand-sanitizers, for personal safety.
It would be recalled that the Authority started the PPEs distribution last year, and items so far distributed include assorted soaps, hand sanitizers, nose masks, and vitamin supplements, among others.
