A 34-year-old businessman, David Nesta and his domestic worker, Sani Mustapha on Tuesday appeared in a Kubwa Grade I Area Court, Abuja, for alleged assault and criminal intimidation.
The police charged the defendants with criminal intimidation, intentional insult, mischief and assault.
The prosecution counsel, John Okpa, told the court that the complainant, Ovo Adhekegba reported the matter at the Area Command Headquarters, Kubwa, Abuja on Jan.18.
Okpa alleged that the defendants, rained insults on the complainant while he was visiting his project site in Katampe extension, Abuja to pay his workers.
He alleged that the defendants also caused damaged the complainant’s car.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections, 397, 155, 327 and 265 of the Penal Code Law.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Judge, Mr Muhammad Adamu, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N500, 000 each with one surety in like sum.
Adamu ordered that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and produce means of identification.
He adjourned the case until Feb. 2 for hearing.
