.….urges parents to take care of their wards
Wife of the Governor, State of Osun, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola on Friday welcomed the first babies of the year in the State Specialist Hospital Asubiaro Osogbo belonging to the family of Mr and Mrs Ibrahim Olalekan.
Baby Olalekan who weighed 3.2kg was delivered at exactly 1:07 am.
Speaking, the First Lady urged the parents and guardians to always taken care of their words most especially at this period when Nigeria and the world is facing the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
Mrs Oyetola who was accompanied by Commissioner for Health Dr.Rafiu Isamotu and Special Adviser on Public Health Dr.Olasiji Olamiju and other wives of top government functionaries spoke through the wife of Secretary to the state Government Mrs Bose Oyebamiji stressed further that residents should continue to always observe the covid 19 protocols inorder to prevent the spread of corona virus.
After praying for the baby of the year, the First Lady presented gift items both in cash and materials to the family. Also extended her kind gesture to some other babies in the ward born before the new year.
She advised parents and guardians in the state to shun the act of female genital mutilation which is dangerous to the health of the girl child. Adding that breastfeeding babies properly would make them free from all forms of ailments and disease.
