Corps Members have been warned against using the social media to spread rumour and comments capable of causing acrimony among the citizens of the country.

NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, gave the warning in his address to the 2020 Batch ‘B’ Stream IB Corps Members at the Orientation Camps in Kwara and Kogi States.

The DG urged them to shun religious intolerance and ethnic bigotry, and instead use the Social Media and other avenues for the promotion of national development, unity and integration.

The Director-General also urged the Corps members to promote the dignity of labour while striving towards job creation as a panacea for unemployment.

He advised them to acquire skills that would make them wealth creators instead of seeking for scarce salaried jobs.

“Don’t wait for white collar jobs. Promote the dignity of labour, be focused and be committed. Discover your talents and work towards harnessing them with passion and the sky will be your limit”, he said.

While educating the Corps Members on the four Cardinal Programmes of NYSC, Ibrahim admonished them to be patriotic and always be of good conduct.

He advised them to be security conscious, and avoid social vices and acts capable of jeopardizing their future.

“Keep your records straight, shun cybercrime and avoid any act that may tarnish your image or haunt you in the future,” he said.
