When Jonathan’s FG wanted to implement IPPIS in Federal universities in 2013, ASUU said it cannot work for the university and presented all the reasons. When Buhari’s FG abandoned the Jonathan’s FG plan in 2014 to develop an alternative platform for universities and decided to dictatorially force the implementation of IPPIS on university workers in 2019, ASUU still maintained its stand that it cannot work and refused to be enrolled. This led to the suspension of the payment of salaries of ASUU members that refused to enroll till date.

Meanwhile, SSANU and the other Unions in the university accepted it and willingly enrolled on the platform. They were even mocking ASUU while the exercise was going on. ASUU was then given the approval to go ahead and develop an alternative that will work for the university. After ASUU has successfully developed UTAS that is undergoing tests before deployment, SSANU came out to claim that they have also develop an alternative platform and rejected UTAS that is still under test and don’t even know how it work.

An alternative to IPPIS, a platform that you accepted with all your senses intact under no duress, and being receiving salaries through? Does that make any sense? For real or FG sponsored claims? I don’t seems to understand.

And funny enough, it is Chris Ngigi, the Minister of Labour and Productivity that is the self appointment new SSANU spokesperson that is broadcasting to Nigerians that SSANU and others have also developed an alternative payroll platform.

Dear Mr Minister, if the plan is to use SSANU to create confusion towards the implementation of UTAS, the game plan is dead on arrival and won’t work.
