APC Leader urges FG to register unemployed youths for monthly Stipends |LAGOS EYE NEWS

Following the violence that engulfed #EndSARS protest across the country, Prince Tajudeen Olusi, the Chairman Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) has called on Federal Government to emulate Britain by providing stipends to the unemployed youths in the country.

Olusi also asked government to begin registration of all unemployed youths across Nigeria, saying this will help them in planning for them in the budget.

“This will need registration of all employed people and this will help government in their planning and to enable them take care of themThey need to know the exact unemployed people in each local government and entire country”, he said.

He stated this on Thursday at Eti-Osa constituency 02 stakeholders’ meeting organised by Lagos Assembly which held simultaneously across the State.

The renowned political leader said the young Nigerians got angry because they are badly hit and unemployed.

According to him, “I spoke about young people that are angry, they are badly hit in the sense that there is no job. Senator Seye Ogunlewe cited Britain that they give stipends to unemployed citizens and he suggested 30,000 for each youth that are unemployed.

Olusi mentioned that when youths are employed they would not have any opportunity to engage in any form of violence.

“when you are fixed, there won’t be time to fight. In Nigeria, we should also emulate such thing that the unemployed will be given some allowances, though it will take sometime but we can do it.

” The entire world is in that preposition today, the economy of every country is bad. We should let our people understand that they need to bear with government. Destroying things and killing people will not solve the problems but we should dialogue and look at the issues and proffers solutions. The problems we have now is unemployment, bad economy and we shall overcome. Let me talk about corruption. It is part of our life in this country. Let every Nigeria vow that he will never offer bribe to anybody whether police or army by so doing we will reduce corruption drastically”, he said.

In another development, Olusi also praised Lagos Assembly for organizing the time hall meeting across all constituencies.

“Let me commence by explaining the importance of this programme, in democracy legislature is an important arm of government, where we have elected officials representing people.

” This gathering is meant for the lawmaker representing this area to gathering people’s feelings. You know we are just getting out of Covid-19 pandemic and it is very important to meet with people, particularly to look at aftermath of Covid-19. For a business persons who lost businesses, life will not be the same”, he concluded.
