#ENDSARS: N’ASSEMBLY URGE BUHARI TO ADDRESS NATION|LAGOS EYE NEWS
The Nigerian Senate has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to address the nation amidst worsening tension due to protests in different parts of the country.
This is one of the main resolutions reached Tuesday at plenary sequel to a motion raised by Ekiti South Senator, Biodun Olujimi.
Galaxy’s Godfrey Eshiemoghie reports that the motion co-sponsored by all other Senators, is hinged on calls for reforms of the Police force.
In their contributions, a cross-section of the senators voiced their displeasure on the escalating violence due to the ongoing protests, while harping on the need for holistic reforms of the police force, among other things.
On his part, Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, urged the #EndSARS protesters to allow the government to implement their demands, stressing they have made their points heard.
The Senate, while calling for protection for the #EndSARS protesters urged them to stop the protests altogether.
