The Federal Government has approved a 3.2 Billion Dollar contract for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Port Harcourt to Maiduguri Eastern Narrow Gauge railway with new branch lines and transhipment facilities.
Amaechi announced this while briefing Journalists after the weekly meeting of the Fed. Executive Council presided over by Pres. Buhari.
He said approval has also been granted for the construction of a deep seaport in Bonni as well as a railway industrial park in Port Harcourt
